STL Wild Mustangs of Colorado May 2nd-5th, 2008 (full)
Our photography workshop takes place in the Rocky Mountains near Craig, Colorado with magnificent big deep blue western skies and broad western rim buttes that stretch for miles. We travel each day into the desert via the comfort of 4x4 vehicles. Our guide is the only licensed, insured and bonded outfitter permitted through the B.L.M. (Bureau of Land Management) to offer wild horse tours in these areas. This workshop affords an exceptional opportunity to photograph and view wild horses and other wildlife in their natural free roaming environment. Well over 250 square miles of high desert with complete solitude and virtually no pressure. Weather and road conditions play a major part in the planning of each outing. It can also get pretty cold if a storm front passes through, possibly leaving snow in its wake. Not to worry, we can warm up in our 4x4 vehicles. We will drive in a variety of places and trails. All of which are hilly and sometimes steep, with tremendous views of stunning landscapes. Huge canyons with sheer 500 ft. limestone cliffs will astound you. Once we are in the high desert. Our daily itinerary is flexible; following the wild horses, wherever they roam. Occasionally, we may have to walk a short distance for a better pictures (water holes, etc.). Normally, we can get the 4x4 vehicle closer to the horses than walking. Additional animals that may be seen include antelope,
deer, elk, fox, coyote, bobcat, mountain lion, badger, grouse,
and a wide variety of raptors. Terms: A $500.00 non-refundable deposit is required. The balance is due 60 days prior to workshop, and is then non-refundable unless the tour sells out. If we do not receive your check for the balance on or before the due date, we will try to fill your spot off the waiting list. If your spot is filled, you will lose your deposit only.
