STL Kodiak Bears and More Workshop
July 2nd-8th, 2008
Arrive Kodiak on July 2nd.
Depart Kodiak on the 8th

Please note-as weather can cause flight delays, it is recommended that participants try to arrive in Kodiak a day early, July 1st.

Join Award winning Master photographer Charles Glatzer, for an unparalleled photographic encounter with Alaska's Kodiak brown bears.

The STL Kodiak Bears and More Workshop affords some exciting opportunities to photograph up close some of the worlds largest coastal brown bears. Kodiak is brimming with wildlife, in addition to brown bears we will stop along the way to photograph some of the other Island inhabitants. Photographic opportunities may include Buffalo, Elk, Mountain Goats, Fox, Eagles, Wild Horses, Ducks and Otters! We will be venturing off-road to remote territories with an experienced guide, who has lived and guided in Kodiak more than fifteen years.

On July 2, our guide will meet us at Kodiak Airport, and, transport us to our cabin where we will stay for the next six nights. We will have 5 full days shooting July 3rd - 7th. The cabin is new and fully equipped with a kitchen, living room, dining room, bathroom and hot tub! There are some spectacular landscape shots as well, so, bring a variety of lenses! On July 8, we depart for the airport.

This workshop is for advanced photographers who want to photograph coastal brown bears, and other wildlife in a remote wilderness area away from crowds. Our primary goal is to photograph Kodiak brown bears feeding on salmon within a variety of backgrounds. Natural behavior can frequently be photographed at close range. Our small group and private access allows us to make the most of each wildlife encounter. Unlike other facilities and camps, we have the luxury of staying on location for extended periods without the pressure of crowds, away from any man made structures. Daily review of images via a laptop computer, and photo instruction along with post-production and PhotoShop techniques will be discussed at length.

To ensure the best instruction and bear interaction possible this workshop will be limited to a maximum of seven participants
