Jasper – Elk Rut, Mammals and Spectacular Landscapes
Oct 10-14th, 2008
(1 space available)
Oct15th-16th, 2-day extension for Alberta full curl bighorns in rut.

Join Award-winning Master photographer Charles Glatzer for a 5-day, in-the-field Workshop. Our primary focus will be on photographing the elk rut, bighorn sheep, coyote, moose and the spectacular landscapes. This will be our 5th year instructing at Jasper and we know all the best locations for wildlife, including a few special locations for trophy bighorns.

Jasper offers scenic wilderness surroundings of unparalleled beauty. Jasper National Park is Canada's largest Rocky Mountain Park and one of North America's largest natural areas - spanning 10,878 sq. km (4,200 sq. mi.) of awe-inspiring scenic splendor.

Shimmering glaciers, abundant wildlife (bighorn sheep, elk, moose, deer, bears, and coyotes) as well as crystal clear lakes, thundering waterfalls, deep canyons and evergreen forest surrounded by towering, rugged mountain peaks - are what your eyes have been waiting to see.

Jasper can satisfy the needs of the most discriminating large mammal and landscape photographer, but if your interested there's great food, shopping, etc. nearby.

Edmonton is the closest city to Jasper NP and the best place to fly in and out. The drive from the airport to Jasper is about 3.5 hours or 210 miles.

Getting there…

Jasper National Park is located 370 km west of Edmonton along Highway 16 and 404 km northwest of Calgary via the Trans-Canada Highway 1 and the Icefields Parkway (Highway 93). The town of Jasper is located in the middle of the park. Vancouver and Edmonton have regular bus and train service to Jasper.
