Charles Glatzer is a Professional Commercial Photographer with a Master of Photography Degree, and an Award winning photographer, including a two-time recipient of the Kodak Gallery Award of Excellence, "the benchmark for saluting technical execution and visual impact in the photographic arts.” Charles possesses a wide range of photographic talents with a special emphasis in Nature and Underwater photography.

A full time Professional photographer and teacher for more than 25 years, he owns and hosts "Shoot the Light" Instructional Photographic Workshops throughout the USA and abroad. Charles is currently one of the most sought after digital nature, in-field and post-production photographic instructors in the nation. His images are recognized internationally for their lighting, composition and attention to detail.

Charles is a Photography Advisor for a host of institutions. He was the co-founder, partner and Senior Tech and Field Editor of NPN, a past Adjunct Associate Professor at Long Island University, and is the Principal photographer for the new Atlantis Marine World Aquarium, NY. An accomplished Natural History speaker with credits including Explorer's Club NYC, Audubon, Sierra Club, Nature Conservancy, Fuji Professional, NANPA, ASMP, CNPA, and PPA, he serves on many judges' panels for both National and International Photographic Competitions. Charles was the Keynote speaker at the Prestigious "Kachemak Bay Shorebird Festival," Homer AK and an instructor/lecturer at the NANPA SD Summit. In addition, he is a columnist on Naturescapes.net, the webs Premier Nature Photography Resource.

His images have been on public display at the Orlando International Airport and Disney's Epcot and Imagineering Center. Fujifilm Professional has played an active role sponsoring, in part, Charles career for many years; poster signings, film and product, workshop/lecture sponsorship and image purchase are greatly appreciated.

His equipment and experience includes 4x5, 6X6, 35mm film and digital formats. His leap into the digital domain started with PhotoShop 3 and LS 2000 film scanners. He has further expanded his creative and teaching options shooting exclusively now with 35mm digital format. Charles uses, Pocket Wizard MultiMax radio slaves for firing off-camera lighting and motor drives, Quantum Turbo battery and additional accessories, Gitzo CF tripods with RRS ballheads and L-brackets, Wimberley products (gimbal head, sidekick, flash brackets, and lens plates), Kirk window mount and Kinesis beanbags and NSN Skimmer ground plate are used for support. Sekonic L358/558 incident meters are used for exposure. All equipment is carried in Think Tank bags. His digital capture medium of choice is Sandisk Extreme IV. Capture One Pro, Breeze Browser Pro, and Photoshop CS3 are the postproduction softwares of choice.

Charles is well versed in both Nikon and Canon film and digital bodies.

Current camera equipment includes; Canon digital 1Ds Mark III bodies, 16-35, 24-70, 70-200IS, 180 macro, 300 2.8IS, 100-400IS, 500IS, 600IS w/ converters and extension tubes, 580EX II flashes.
